The 12 Stages of Healing - Stage 5
Healing unfolds through awareness, insight, and choice. Each stage in the Stages of Healing provides information that supports growth when it is met with presence rather than force. No stage exists to be rushed. Each one completes itself by being honored fully.
A Brief Recap
Earlier stages in this series introduced awareness, patterns, perspective, and choice. Stage One brought attention to what felt disconnected. Stage Two revealed patterns and rhythms. Stage Three highlighted being stuck in a perspective. Stage Four reintroduced personal power and choice. These stages prepare the foundation for deeper integration.
Stage Five: Merging with the Illusion
Stage Five marks a shift inward. With a stronger sense of self now present, attention turns toward parts that were once pushed away, ignored, or misunderstood. These parts may have been labeled as negative or unwanted, or even placed on a pedestal as something to strive toward. In this stage, both are welcomed back into awareness.
This process involves recognizing that what once felt separate is still part of the whole. The “illusion” begins to soften. Instead of rejecting certain aspects or identifying too strongly with others, awareness expands to include more of the full experience. This creates an opportunity for healing through integration rather than separation.
As this stage unfolds, a deeper sense of wholeness begins to emerge. There is less need to divide experiences into right or wrong, good or bad. Greater acceptance allows the body and nervous system to organize with more coherence. This stage often brings a sense of clarity and stability, as more of the self is brought into alignment.
Coming Next: Stage Six
Stage Six explores what happens as this integration builds momentum and the system prepares for release and resolution. This stage introduces the buildup of energy that leads to meaningful change.
